Emma holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) Honours degree that she completed at Deakin University in 2007. Emma joined the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) in 2008 and has been involved in various physical activity projects including: the Westbay project looking at challenging barriers to undertaking physical activity amongst CALD groups; an evaluation of the Living Longer Living Stronger program; and currently the Fitness for the Ageing Brain Study II. She has also been involved in a number of program evaluations including evaluating a transition care cognitive assessment and management pilot and an intergenerational playgroup in residential aged care facilities. Her research interests include improving the life and well-being of older people, healthy ageing (including physical activity), carer support and dementia.
