Plaiwan is a physiotherapist from Thailand. She completed BSc. and MSc. (Physiotherapy) in 2001 and since then had worked as a lecturer in Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Allied Health, Thammasat University, Thailand until 2007. Plaiwan has commenced her PhD under Prof Keith Hill's supervision on balance and exercise in order to prevent falls in people with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Her study will introduce a group based exercise programme at the early stage of the disease when people still have a greater capacity to actively participate and derive benefits from the programme. It is envisaged that this will minimise the impact of balance impairment in the later stages of the disease.
